How to hand a job to your AI department

Hand a bigger task to a Managed Agent department that works on its own while you step away.

What you'll do

Some jobs are too big for a single quick chat. Here you'll hand a larger task to a Managed Agent department — one of the AI departments that work on their own while you step away. The best part: you can close the tab, go do something else, and come back to find the work waiting for you.

This needs a Builder plan or higher.

Step 1 — Hand the work over from where you're already working

There's no separate "launch a department" button, and that's deliberate: you hand work over from the place the work already lives. There are three ways in.

Ask for a specialist's take. In a consultation, choose Get a specialist's take, pick an advisor (or let us choose), and say what you'd like them to weigh in on. A department picks it up and works on it on its own.

Run your consultation as a team. On the Express or Guided consultation, choose the team option. Instead of one agent asking you questions, a whole department runs the consultation together.

Ask for a deep review. Open a Blueprint and choose the deep review. A department reads the whole plan and comes back with what it would change.

Step 2 — Say what you want, in plain words

Whichever door you came through, describe the outcome rather than the steps.

A clear example: "Build a customer sign-up page with name and email, save the entries to my app's data, and send me an email when someone joins." The department reads this and divides the work among the right agents.

Step 3 — Let it run and step away

Once it's going, open Managed Agents to watch. You'll see which agents are working, what each is doing right now, and the Credit Tokens used so far.

You don't have to sit and wait. Close the tab, grab a coffee, and check back later. Your job keeps running. When you return, open Managed Agents again to see the progress and results.

Step 4 — Review and refine

When the department finishes, review what it built. Open the Visual Builder to preview your project on phone and desktop, then point-and-click to adjust anything, or simply ask in chat for changes.

If something is heading the wrong way mid-run, you can stop the work and give clearer instructions.

Tips

  • Keep your request focused on one clear outcome. Vague jobs get vague results.
  • Paid plans include a set monthly amount of Credit Tokens; the free plan gets a one-time starting grant instead. Bigger department jobs use more, so check Home if you're running low — and remember that talking to your team costs nothing, whatever your balance says.
  • Want a second opinion before you publish? Builder plans and higher can request an AI Review of the result.
