Thirty departments. You run one at a time.
Pick one, give it a sentence, and read the receipt when it is done.
Managed Agents is on Builder and up.Managed AI Agent Departments
Powered byHow a Managed AI Agent Department works, in five steps. One: on your own computer you pick a department, describe the job in one sentence and press Start. Two: the job runs in a secure cloud room that Anthropic runs, where a Claude lead agent reads it and splits it into ten tasks. Three: the lead hands the work out to ten AI Specialists; you close the tab and get on with something else while it keeps working. When a task needs the web, it can only reach the few addresses its room allows, and anything else is turned back. Four: the results come back to the lead, which checks the work and signs it off. Five: a notification tells you it is done, and the result is waiting on your screen, inside the limit you set. Your plan sets the models: Enterprise leads on Opus 5.5 or, if you choose, Fable 5.1 with ten on Opus 5.5; Accelerator leads on Opus 5.5 or, if you choose, Fable 5.1 with ten on Sonnet 5.5; Builder leads on Sonnet 5.5 with ten on Haiku 4.5.
Your plan sets the lead, and the ten.

One lead. Ten AI Specialists. No generalists.
Every one of them is named. Step through all thirty departments to meet each team.
A department drawn as a team: one lead agent, running on Claude, and ten AI Specialists underneath it, each named. The lead splits the job ten ways and hands each specialist its one job in turn; each works on it and reports back, one after another, and the ten results fill the lead's one result, which the lead then signs off. Step through all thirty departments, each with its plan.

Up to thirty departments. One per session.
01/30Why a whole company beats one AI.
A company of departments, and one of them owns the part you forgot.
The same job, asked two ways. On the left, one chat with one assistant: you send the sentence, it replies and hands the job back, and every time something was missed you have to spot it and prompt it again. On the right, your AI software company: for each of the six areas of work, you pick the department that owns that part, and the thing you had to spot on the left is one named AI Specialist's one job; the department directs its ten AI Specialists on Claude models only, and the finished part comes back with a receipt. Review is something a department's lead can ask for; it is not automatic.
On the left, you had to spot it. On the right, it is Persona Builder's one job.
1 / 6Six areas of work. Thirty departments.
Managed Agents runs from Builder up. Your plan decides how many of the thirty it can call on — thirteen there, all thirty at Enterprise.
The six areas of work, with all thirty departments in them, and the five plans above. Managed Agents runs from Builder up. Builder opens thirteen departments across all six areas, Accelerator twenty-one, and Enterprise all thirty. For each of those plans, one department that is new on it takes a job for you: you pick it and give it a sentence, its ten AI Specialists take one job each, and the finished part comes back, reviewed by another department because the lead asked for it.
Card payments, live. Security checked it first.
1 / 3What you get. What it costs. What you own.
Departments come with every plan. From Builder up, they run on their own.
Do I need to know how to code?
- You describe the job in a sentence — that is the whole input.
- Every step is written back to you in plain English as it happens.
- A technical background helps if you want to extend the result yourself, and it is not needed to build.
What do I get back when it's done?
- The finished piece of work, waiting on your screen when you come back.
- A plain-English record of every step it took to get there.
- A summary of what the run used, so the charge is never a surprise.
What does it cost to run one?
- You set a limit before it starts, and it can never charge you past that.
- You pay only for the work it actually did — the rest stays yours.
- If it gets close to your limit it pauses and asks you, rather than spending on.
- Every plan comes with an allowance to spend, and you can top it up if you need more.
Which plan do I need to run one?
- Every plan includes AI Agent Departments — 3 on Explorer, 6 on Starter, 13 on Builder, 21 on Accelerator and all 30 on Enterprise.
- From Builder up, a department runs on its own, with its ten AI Specialists working without you — that is what Managed Agents means.
Do I have to watch and approve every step?
- Leave it running — it works without you.
- Close the tab and come back — it keeps going while you are away.
- Check in whenever you like: every step is written in plain English.
- A department can hand its work to another for review before it is marked done — when its lead asks for it. It is never automatic.
What if it gets something wrong?
- You can stop a session at any point.
- You are charged only for what it used up to that moment, and nothing more.
- Every step is recorded in plain English as it runs, so you can see exactly what it did.
- A run that stalls is stopped for you, and charged the same way.
What can it reach while it works?
- It works in a cloud room that Anthropic runs, never on your own machine.
- It can reach only the few addresses its department is set up for, and many departments are given no internet at all.
- A run of this kind uses billed provider accounts, which are not used to train models.
Do I own what it builds?
- Yes — it is your app, on every plan.
- Exporting the code is free, whatever plan you are on.
Put a department on your app.
The AI departments that work on their own while you step away.
